Tech jams

IMG_3958

The Sari-Sari Xchange tech jams bring together artists, researchers, students, etc. to explore emergent technology in a collaborative way. With topics ranging from audio mixing to Digital 3D modelling, tech jams aim to give participants the support to learn the skills they need for their own projects.

Tech jams provide a supportive environment where participants can experiment with emerging technologies, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. These events encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and help foster a vibrant community of artists who are at the forefront of blending art and technology to create groundbreaking and thought-provoking works of art.

A tech jam is an event or gathering focused on technology and innovation where individuals or teams come together to collaboratively work on tech-related projects or solve specific challenges. It often involves coding, programming, designing, and building software, hardware, or digital solutions. Tech jams can range from informal hackathons, where participants compete to create a functional project within a set timeframe, to more relaxed, collaborative events where people share ideas and expertise to tackle complex problems. These events provide a platform for networking, skill development, and creativity, fostering a sense of community among participants. Tech jams are popular in the tech industry and among tech enthusiasts as they encourage innovation and rapid problem-solving, however we have adapted this format for the intersection of art and tech.

Our Hamilton tech jams are held regularly at McMaster University, 1280 Main St W

Our Toronto tech jams are regularly held at York University, 4700 Keele St
